Constanza, by Jessica Temby

My piece is a story from my Spanish teacher, Constanza Rojas-Primus. She is an incredibly inspiring teacher and I was interested to learn more about her and what’s made her the way she is. She tells a human story: an exploration into how a person gets their lot in life and then takes it on. We all believe in and hope for different things, but it’s how we deal with what we have that makes us who we are.

Surviving Cancer, by Elina Gress

This is a story about an ordinary woman, mother, daughter and aunt who came to the age where women have to get tests done to check whether they have cancer. Rosie did. This story is about Rosie’s journey towards survival. Twice. She emerges as a woman whose trust in God gets stronger, a woman who speaks for all women going through this fight. One thing is for sure, she is a fighter and nothing can stop her.

One artist among many, by Corina Garoff and Thomas Arnold

This is a piece about dance/electronic music, explored through an interview with Felix Cartal, a DJ with the label Dim Mak records. Felix explains how the new genre combines elements of several more traditional genres, and what got him into dance music personally and professionally. Seen through the eyes of someone deeply involved in the music industry, electronic music becomes an intriguing new art form in the creation of music and a way for people to come together and enjoy what music is really all about: a way to express oneself and have fun.

Passion and dedication is what drives James Coleridge of Bella Gelateria to go to work everyday. The world-famous gelato artist has had many influential experiences in his life, including working at Warner Brothers and owning an award-winning bakery, and is an experienced mountain climber who was sponsored by National Geographic and Pentax. Coleridge shares his life experiences and expresses that with passion, you can do anything.
